Meter Reading

A Meter Reading is a value entered at a date and time against an asset or location meter of any type.

Meter Readings can be entered on the asset or location record in the Assets and Locations application using the action Enter Meter Readings. There are also actions to Manage Meter Reading History if you have privilege to adjust previous meter readings, and an action to Reset/Replace Meter. You will find the action Enter Meter Readings can also be performed in the Work Order Tracking or Quick Reporting applications, and you can also enter meter readings from the Technician and Inspection mobile applications.

When entering a New Reading the New Reading Date will default to the current date and time and the Inspector will default to the person of the logged in user. The Delta field, if set for a continuous meter, means that you should only enter the difference to the Previous Reading and not the Actual reading, in many cases it will be set to Actual. However, the Delta is always calculated as it is used to increment the five counters seen on the right, Since Last Overhaul, Since Last Inspection, Since Last Repair, Since Install and Life to Date for Asset. With the exception of Life to Date for Asset these can be reset using the action Reset/Replace Meter.

The delta reading for continuous type meters may be rolled down the asset hierarchy, or if the meter reading is against a location to the assets at that location. For Gauge and Characteristic meters, a measurement or observation may be added to a Measure Point record created in the Condition Monitoring application.
