A Meter ResetA Meter Reset occurs if you wish to adjust any of the counters or other fields of an asset or location meter. More occurs if you wish to adjust any of the counters or other fields of an asset or locationA physical place where assets exist and where work can be performed. More meter.

The action Reset/Replace Meters will be found in the Assets and Locations applications and is used only where there is an active asset or location meter of type continuous. Four of the counter fields, Since Last Overhaul, Since Last Inspection, Since Last Repair, and Since Install can be reset. The first three of these fields can be automatically reset to zero when work orders of specific work types are completed. This is set up in the OrganizationsA structural element of a Maximo database which is used for data sharing. More application, Work Order Options, Work Type; the Type field is set to OVERHAUL, INSPECTION or REPAIR.

The Reset/Replace Meters dialog also allows you to modify the point at which the meter will rollover or reset back to zero, use the field called Rollover. The Average field is used for resetting the Average Units/Day and would be most often used if the asset or location meter has an Average Calculation Method setting of STATIC.

The Last Reading field in the action dialog would be used if you need to replace the physical meter, it allows the value to be lower than the current meter reading. When entered the Last Reading Date and Inspector fields are defaulted.
