A set is used to share data across the Maximo Database. There are two types an Item Set and a Company Set.
The same set of companies or items can be shared across multiple organizations. Alternatively, an organization may have its own company set and item set, or have its own company set and share the item set with other organizations.

For Item Sets you can define the Default Item Status. For Company Sets you can define whether you can Automatically Add Companies to Company Master.

There are several objects that are defined against an Item Set, the key field will be ITEMSETID. You will need to specify which organizations are allowed to use an item.
