Labor Locations are inventory type locationsA physical place where assets exist and where work can be performed. More that maintain item balances.

Labor Locations might be used when your technicians carry stock in their vans, and you want them to account for the stock they use. Labor Locations are created from the Labor application using the action Create Labor Inventory Location. The dialog that opens allows you to enter the GL Account, Control Account and Shrinkage Account. Once set up the name of the storeroom will be seen in the fields Labor Inventory Site and Labor Inventory Location. A record will also be found in the Locations application with the Location TypeThere are eight location types of which the most common one is an Operating Location. While labor locations are referenced as inventory type locations in IBM documentation, they will not be found in the Storerooms application. Locations of type LABOR are standalone locations which cannot be a part of a location hierarchy.
