Postal Address

The Postal Address is a subset of fields on a Service Address.

The Postal Address would often be defined using the Street Address, Address Line 2, Address Line 3, City, and Zip/Postal Code fields. The fields Region/District, County and State/Province would optionally be used depending on where your Maximo system was being used.

When you select a Service Address on a Location, Asset, Work Order or Service Request the fields displayed are the Service Address code and its description, the Formatted Address, Street Address, City, and State/Province. Notice, the Zip/Postal Code is not included, which is another reason why we suggest that the Service Address Description field is concatenated from the set of postal address fields being used, including the Zip/Postal Code.

The Street Address is the first field of the Postal Address. It is shown here as being enterable, but there is an Organization – Service Address Options setting which may make this field read-only. In this case, the Street Address is derived from a set of six fields in the dialog Add/Modify Street Address. When this is active it is referred to as the Structured Street Address.
