Design Data Sets

This tool is used for creating a new data set that can be used for downloading Maximo data to a CSV file. To modify an existing data set then use the Business Analysis work center.
Select Object Set
- Step 1 – Select an object set from object structures which are consumed by Reporting
- The information icon on each card shows the report object structure name
- The description text on the card is the Report Object Structure’s long description
- Filter field searches on the object structure card text; the description and its long description
Configure Content
- Step 2 – Select the object from the object set and then the fields you want in your data set, then use the Add button
- Can use the Control key to select multiple fields to add in one action
- Filter field is used for searching by attribute name or its description
- Button to show only required database fields, useful for YORN or AMOUNT type, or key fields
- Once selected you can change the order in which the fields will be displayed, or edit the column title for the field
- For selected fields which are in the main object you can select them so that the results are ordered by these fields. You can also sort by ascending or descending.

Define Filters
- Step 3 – Select an existing query to filter the records by
- Create a new query, you might use copy and paste from an existing query as a starting point
- Test the query syntax
- Reset button
- Preview button is available
Save
- Step 4 – Provide a name and a description for the new data set
- Preview button is available
- After save:
- Create new data set
- Return to edit
- Download CSV
- Return to Work Center – returns to Business Analysis work center
Business Analysis

The Business Analysis work center has been designed for the business analyst whose aim is to improve data quality or conformance to processes in Maximo, it is not a work supervisors’ dashboard, the Start Center is currently the best place for this.
KPIs
Along the top of the Business Analysis work center are 5 KPIs
- EMWNODOWN – EM Work with no Downtime
- EMWNOFAIL – EM Work with no Failure Data
- CLOSEDWNOACT – Closed Work with no Actuals
- KPI-10 – Work Orders Overdue
- KPI-4 – Open Work Orders Waiting Approval
When you click on a KPI you get an explanation and a KPI history trend. You can download the image or change the chart type.
Data Set Library
Left hand pane of Business Analysis work center
- One card for each saved data set in the library with button to download the data set records to a CSV file
- Button to create a new data set
- Search field for finding data sets in the library based on their title or description
Analysis Charts – Work Management
Middle pane of Business Analysis work center has three graphs which are connected to the priority of the work order, 1, 2 , 3, 4, or All, shown as tabs along the top.
- Overdue Work (quantity) – Open work orders where the scheduled finish is in the past. Heat map chart shows a count of work orders by supervisor and status. Hover over the bar to get information on supervisor, status and number of work orders.
- Backlog Work (quantity) – A count of open work orders by work type
- Waiting on Material Work (quantity) – A count of work orders at status WMATL by work type
Each chart provides information. You can download the image or change the chart type except for Overdue Work. Queries defined in MXAPIWO object structure.
Analysis Charts – Data Management

- Assets with no Classifications – Shows the percentage of assets at various priorities with no asset classification
- Assets with no Failure Class – Shows the percentage of assets at various priorities with no asset failure class
Each chart provides information. You can download the image or change the chart type. Queries defined in MXAPIASSET object structure.
Work Center Configuration

The ability to configure work centers is currently restricted to Work Supervision and Work Execution and it is only available when using Google Chrome browser. When granted security rights there is a pencil icon in top right and then when active a yellow button indicating Design mode is on. The wheel icon shows the Manage Work Center configuration dialog. You can save configuration changes as draft and then publish when ready. You use the wheel icon to exit design mode.
The changes that can be made are:
- Card details – Design Card dialog
- Query details – Design Work Panel dialog
- Header and Display Name
My Profile

My profile provides ability for user to change:
- Image photo
- Default Insert Site
Otherwise displays, display name, default craft and skill level, primary phone, primary email address, person’s ship to address, bill to address and location.
