Responsive User Interface

A responsive user interface is one where it looks the same, or is very similar, on a desktop, tablet or a smartphone. The example shown is the Work Execution Work Center on both a smartphone and tablet. It is not an easy task, to design a user interface that responds to different devices, stays simple, but also reflects a wide range of different asset management worlds, and the different maturity levels of Maximo clients in how they approach asset management. How do you add complexity but keep it easy to use? We can see that over the last 3 or so years there has been some changes along the way.
You can see how these Work Centers respond to different devices and their size by using the Google Chrome browser and selecting More Tools – Developer Tools – Toggle device toolbar. You can then select the device and orientation that you wish to emulate.
